Roads

The route takes the A9 north from Dambulla a short distance to Inamaluwa junction, then turns east on the Sigiriya road. The road is in good condition, flat, and well-signposted. Traffic is moderate with tourist vehicles.

Scenery

The short drive passes through flat dry-zone scrub. Sigiriya Rock becomes visible rising dramatically from the plain well before you arrive at the entrance.
