Sri-Lanka-Rundreise: 12 Tage – Familienabenteuer
Zwölf Tage, die der ganzen Familie Spaß machen: Elefantensafaris in Habarana und Udawalawe, die Zugfahrt von Nanu Oya nach Ella und eine Festungsstadt mit Eis auf der Stadtmauer.Fast überall zwei Nächte, und genau das macht diese Reise mit Kindern machbar. Den Auftakt macht Habarana, mit Elefantensafaris und Radtouren an Dorfseen vorbei. In Kandy und Nuwara Eliya kommen der Zahntempel, eine Teefabrik und Abende dazu, die kühl genug für einen Pullover sind. Die Zugfahrt von Nanu Oya nach Ella ist der Teil, an den Kinder sich erinnern, und die autofreien Gassen von Galle Fort sind zum abendlichen Bummeln gemacht. Keine Etappe zwischen zwei Quartieren dauert viel länger als drei Stunden.

Ganzjährig gut; in Nuwara Eliya sind die Abende von Dezember bis Februar am kühlsten, und die Elefantensafaris in Udawalawe laufen ganzjährig, während die Blocks 1 und 2 in Yala in der Trockenzeit September/Oktober meist mehrere Wochen schließen (die Termine werden jährlich festgelegt).

Temple of the Tooth Relic
Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy houses a tooth relic of the Buddha and has been the most sacred Buddhist site in Sri Lanka since the 4th century AD.
